Ironically enough my “Mama Mary” nickname was not coined when my first child, nor second child, was born. No, my moniker was the product of a rave called “Solstice”, 12 years ago, when I helped a hopped up friend unravel himself from a bundle of intertwined wool. Out of delirious gratitude, he called me Mama Mary. The name stuck throughout the years as I always seemed to be the person with the snack, piece of gum or crumpled piece of tissue in my bag when anyone was in need.

Now, I truly am “Mama Mary” to two precious little girls, Lily and Lexi, and boy, do I have a lot to say. I have a lot to say about being a mom, a woman, a wife, a reality tv junkie, a cool chick, and an obsessive cumpulsive extremist. I want to get some things off my chest (which hasn’t grown past a B cup even while nursing – not fair!) and give props to the other women out there who are feeling a little overwhelmed by the constant tug o’ war between family, the workplace and our own personal selves who want a little me time once in awhile (and don’t want to feel guilty for it!). I want to bond with my sisters out there – let’s laugh, cry, rant, rave and maybe dish a little dirt while we’re at it.

Check in daily for my latest drama at the park, my most recent project, my updates on inane reality tv, and any old random mish mosh I feel like posting.

  1. Hi Mary,
I’m so thrilled that you are doing this. I laughed and cried in the 10 minutes i spent reading a few passages. Can’t wait for more…..Kimberly

  2. Oh, Mar….

I am so thrilled you are doing this. What an amazing way to let us all vent, rant, chuckle (or pee our pants for that matter), cry, bark at the moon, cringe, seer, rant, gasp, applaud, rave or freaking zippity-do-da right along with you.

You inspire me…. I am so proud of you. I can’t wait to hear more about the book!

Give those sweet girlies a whole gob of smooches from the Turvs.

  3. This is awesome Mar! Ahhh! I Miss you! I am so happy for you and totally enjoy a peek into your day. Makes me feel like I’m not so far away from you guys. xoxoxoxox

  4. Mary,
What a great fun thing to do. πŸ™‚

  5. Hey Mary,

I finally had a moment to check out your blog. What a great way to stay connected and updated about what’s going on in your life. Since I am only 2 weeks from my due date, I am getting more and more scared about baby #2. I know it won’t be easy, but if you can do it…so can I. It is best to keep it real and share the “I totally lost it” moments along with the “I’m the #1 Mom moments”. Love ya!!

  6. Mary, I LOVE this site. I wish we lived closer so my little girlies and I could play with you and your sweet peas. It has been so many years since high school and I wish I had done a better job staying in touch. This is a terrific way for me to feel closer to you and your experiences as a woman and mom. Keep up the good work. I look forward to your posts. Cheers! Cindy

  7. Your archives only go back into October, but I get the feeling that I’ve bumped into you at Derfwad’s place before.

My friends tend to call me “Mar” too. πŸ™‚

  8. I just posted on Derfwad’s yesterday, could that be it? I’ve only been in the blogosphere for a few weeks. Here’s to more, Mar.

  9. Hey Mama Mary – you do have a way with words πŸ˜‰

Glad you told me about this site, and glad to have contributed in my own small ravelled way. Your book project looks great, and it’s great to see pics of your kids and your current state of mama-ness.

My best wishes to you and all that you’re doing!!!
